invitation FAQ
When do i need to order my wedding invitations?
We recommend ordering custom wedding invitations at least 6 months before your wedding. Due to our limited capacity, early booking is advised.
How many invitations do i need to order?
One invitation per household
This typically amounts to roughly 70% of your total guest count, which is what we use for quoting purposes unless you happen to already have your quantity set!
Things to Consider:
- 1-2 extras to have as a keepsake
- 1 extra for your photographer (hello beautiful detail shots!)
- 5-10 extras in case one gets lost in the mail, a family member may want keepsakes, etc.
How much do custom wedding invitations cost?
While we wish this was a one-size-fits-all scenario, there are many factors that determine the final price. This means each request comes with a custom quote for your event!
We also offer an All Inclusive Stationery Package. This package is carefully curated to provide everything you need for the best day ever, wrapped up in a neat little bow with clear pricing! Click here to check out the package.
Do you have a minimum order quantity?
Our minimum order is only 25 suites.
One important thing to keep in mind is that the custom design creation encompasses a large portion of our pricing. This will result in seeing a greater “per suite” price vs. larger quantities.
How do I address my envelopes?
This is actually a loaded question but at the end of the day, it comes down to how how formal your wedding is. For more traditional weddings, we have information for our clients to guide them that follow the best etiquette. If you aren’t looking to go traditional, you’re free to address any way you’d like!
Cliché as it sounds, our biggest mission is to provide the best customer care possible. This means it’s our job to be here for you whenever you have questions and to guide you along!
Should i do mailed or digital rsvp's?
The most common type of response card we create are for digital responses. This can mean an email, phone number or wedding website. We an even add a QR code for your guests to find your site fast!
Mail-in responses will never go out of style! For more traditional weddings, they are definitely still the norm. There are a few things to remember should you choose mail-back cards:
- You must place a stamp on the return envelope
- Consider using a method to track these cards in cases a guest forgets to fill out their name (ex. number them with an invisible pen)
How do I set an rsvp date?
Most venues require a final head count 2-3 weeks before the wedding day. We recommend adding a minimum of one additional week.
This will give you some grace period to contact guests that may have forgotten to respond
How do i know what i need?
Your job as the client is to have questions. Chances are, this is the first wedding you’re planning and you aren’t expected to have these answers!
We love to chat with couples about their wedding day: what is their vision, colours and style, is it formal or casual and really, we just love getting to know the couple. It helps us determine the items that they actually need vs what’s a nice-to-have. From there we can make some suggestions based on budget and go from there!
Some couples only need a single card invitation, others need 5 cards. It all depends on how much information you need to provide to your guests!
wedding signage
You think your wedding invitations are the only place to let your creativity flow?
Think again. Custom wedding signage can be anything you can dream of!
Our standard printing method is on foamcore, a lightweight and rigid material. Through custom design creation, maybe ramp it up by hanging it with ribbons or creating a custom shape, there are so many things you can create with this versatile material!
Interested in fabric signage? Let me tell ya… it’s not as large an investment as you might think! While it is a step above foamcore, fabric signage is still affordable and you really cannot deny the WOW factor it gives! Make a bold statement with fabric signage.
Speaking of wow factors, have you seen our mirror signage? Your choice of vinyl application or hand-done calligraphy, oh mah word is it stunning!
final table details
Don’t underestimate the power of the final paper details on your tablescape.
Not only are table numbers directional for your guests, but it pulls the design through the full wedding, creating a cohesive look from beginning to end! Custom wedding design is not unlike branding: you want your wedding design to be consistent and tell a story right from your save the date cards all the way to menus and place cards, or even thank you cards!
day-of faq
When do i need to order my day-of stationery?
2-3 months ahead of the big day.
We recommend booking at the same time as your invitations to guarantee a spot for the wedding day because we do take on limited projects each year.
what do i need to order?
There are only two items that are required for the wedding day (of course there are exceptions) and those are a seating chart and table numbers. Everything beyond this is dependent on your wedding.
Do i need menus or place cards?
Plated dinner weddings should include menus and place cards. Your place card will include guest name, meal choice and allergy notices to ensure your guests’ safety.
Buffet and family style dinners can include menus for each guest, one for display on the table or none at all.
what signage should i include?
This is a matter of opinion for each couple. Most of our couples typically include their seating chart, a welcome sign, signature drinks and bar menus8 and a guestbook sign.
Additional ideas include unplugged ceremony signs, in memory for loved ones, sweets tables, etc. Honestly, your wedding can be anything you want it to be, so let’s be creative!
How is signage printed?
Our standard signage is printed on foamcore, a lightweight yet rigid board that’s easily displayed on an easel, tabletop easel or can be punched and hung with a ribbon.
We also offer acrylic and fabric signage prints as well as custom calligraphy and vinyl application on a variety of surfaces including acrylic, mirrors, etc.
I have an idea but i don't know if it's possible - what should I do?
I think my favourite thing is jumping out of the box and have the chance to create something brand new! I’ve had so many firsts: first fabric sign, first calligraphy mirror, first vinyl application and they have all turned out so beautifully. I would love to chat about your ideas and see what we can dream up!
what if some guests rsvp no?
Unlike other vendor categories, it’s always best to quote your needs for the smallest quantity you may need. We can always add additional prints as needed (don’t worry, we include this cost for you in your quote so you know exactly what to expect) but once a contract is signed, we cannot reduce your quantity.
It’s important to know that I understand sometimes, things change. If your quantity winds up below what was quoted, we can reallocate those funds to a fun bonus item for the big day!
What are personalized menus?
These are a concept we began offering in an attempt to help couples reduce costs when they’re conscious of their budget.
This means each menu is printed with your guests’ names, meal choices and dietary restrictions right on the menu, saving you from needing to purchase additional place cards – it serves as both!
